Description

Passage Thru’ India remodeled itself and became, the world largest thematic Indian Restaurant outside India.

Its exterior is bold and attention grabbing, purely adding colours and touch of the whimsy to Jalan Tun Razak. Passage Thru’ India always has reflected a countryside Indian home. It’s interior is exuberant and fanciful, with a touch of bohemian artistry, yet its atmosphere is cozy.

A myriad of colours, both jolting and stimulating, adorn the restaurant, and are choose with something specific in mind. It is painted with artistic series where there is no rules and no pretensions simply an interpretation of beautiful India.

There is ample car parking space in the large compound the size of the football field in front of the restaurant. The garden is completed with assorted tropical plant and banana trees, completing the picture of a typical outdoor kitchen in an Indian country home.

The journey into to its interior, or passage into India, if you will, is via covered entrance, drawing patrons into a kaleidoscope of Indian art, design and culture.

Entering the restaurant, you will find a buffet counters designed to represent old brick-and-concrete cooking stoves completed with old pots and pans sourced from India. On the left, is a recessed niche decked with dining tables and chairs.

The ceiling is decorated with suspended lanterns and custom-designed fabrics with decorative woodcarving adds contrast to the exposed brick walls and textured stucco walls.

Passage Thru India has been previously voted the Best Indian Restaurant by the Culture, Arts, and Tourism Ministry and always been acknowledge as the most thematic Indian rest by ever loyal patrons, both local and foreigners.

There are two private rooms available. The Northern India Room, which accommodates 20, has a seductive ambience and a mural of a phoenix on the ceiling hovering. The Mirror Room, on the other hand, is adapted from a palace of Rajasthan. The King designed a room filled with thousands of mirror to imitate twilight when the lights are off.

The extended area is located a the new wings and here, a covered courtyard serves as banquet hall. There is a stage for live performances as well as a private elevated corner furnished with benches and oversized floor cushions, inviting guests to recline and unwind. There have been many occasions when this space is served as wedding dais, catwalk runways, dinner hall and seminars cubicle. Many tributes to famous Indian singer also been staged here.
